Things you should know.

If you rent your villa privately, the All-inclusive package is optional for all guests staying in the unit, with or without you (the member) being present, i.e. staying as an Owner Loan. However, if your renters do decide that they would like to purchase the All-inclusive package, they will not be entitled to the special member rate unless they are the children, spouse, or parent of the member who owns that unit. The All-inclusive rate is $89/day for adults. You can buy six days and get one free or you can buy a consecutive four-day package. Breakfast is $420 pesos (approximately $40) for adults and 210 pesos (approximately $20) for children.

If you rent out your villa through the Royal Resorts, they now have to pay a 19% Mexican tax on that revenue which they debit from your rental proceeds.

The preregistration service is available, and you can preregister if you prefer to do so and save time when checking in. You can use the Royal Resorts app to preregister or the following Members Area link: https://membersarea.royalresorts.com/preregistration/

The ATM machine in the lobby DOES NOT accept the Discover credit card, only Visa, Mastercard, or American Express. The Royal Resort has gone to a cashless resort. You can pay your resort bill at the end of your stay with either a credit card or Pesos, not American Dollars. Make sure your credit card does not charge foreign exchange fees.

You can change your larger Pesos denominated bills into smaller Pesos bills to pay for the bus or tips. They will not exchange pesos for dollars.

There is no charge to use the gym for members. The gym membership is included in your club service fee.

Club Bistro in The Royal Resorts has an El Conquistador night on Thursday. Many of your favorite dishes and deserts are served and Jorge Duran plays the guitar while you dine. Reservations are a must and begin at 5:30 pm and every thirty minutes thereafter until 10 pm when the restaurant closes.

The shuttle from The Royal Haciendas to Playa del Carmen is free and leaves the resort at 10:15 am, 12 pm, 5:30 pm, and 6:30 pm. To take the shuttle from Playa del Carmen to The Royal Haciendas, the cost is 60 pesos (approximately $3.00 U.S.) and leaves Playa at 12:30 pm, 3 pm, 6 pm, 8 pm, and 9 pm. The pickup/drop off point is Calle 20 and 5th Avenue. Taxis charge 300 to 350 pesos (approximately $16 U.S.) for four people. Times are subject to change so check with the front desk.

Some restaurants will add a tip, even as much as 20%, to your bill without telling you. Look at your bill to check before adding a tip on top of a tip.
