The entire State of Quintana Roo is now at a yellow light stage. Cancun and Riviera Maya went to a yellow light status on September 7th, but now both the northern and southern part of the State are at yellow light. Hotels, restaurants, beaches, theme parks, religious services, shopping centers, golf courses, and other tourist services will be able to operate at a 60% capacity. Outdoor sports clubs and facilities can operate at a 70% maximum capacity but closed spaces such as indoor gyms will be permitted at 50% capacity. Bars, nightclubs, and entertainment centers, as well as schools will remain closed.
An elevated light rail train system has been approved for the entirety of Cancun. The circular route will include all of the Hotel Zone, from Kukulcan Blvd. to Tulum Ave, and from Tulum Ave. to the airport. Passengers will be able to connect to the Larger Maya Train which will take tourists to numerous destinations around the Yucatan. You will also be able to catch the light rail system to your hotel or resort along Kukulcan Blvd.
